What is a GLP-1  or GLP-1/ GIP medication?

Semaglutide belongs to a class of medications known as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists. GLP-1 medications work by mimicking a hormone released by our gut in response to food which in turn makes you feel fuller longer, curbs food cravings and helps your body process sugars more efficiently.

Both Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are revolutionary in their ability to help us lose weight. With the addition of the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) agonist, Tirzepatide may provide a slight advantage. Some patients report less complaints of nausea and acid reflux with Tirzepatide.

The downside? Tirzepatide is more expensive. We will help you decide what’s right for you.

At Momentum Weight Loss Rx, we offer the less-expensive generic version of these brand name medications.

Who is eligible to join?

actively working on expanding access to our program.

• 18 years old or older
 • Resident of Nevada
 • Demonstrated medical need for treatment

Who should not take GLP-1 prescription weight loss medication?

Accepted Answer

You may not be eligible for a GLP-1 prescription if you meet any of the
following criteria:

• Currently pregnant, nursing, or planning to become pregnant in the next year
 • Family or personal history of medullary thyroid cancer
 • Personal history of multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 (MEN2)
 • Active eating disorder 
 • Currently being treated for cancer
 • Active drug or alcohol misuse
 • Suicidal thoughts or past attempts
 • Severe Mental health disorders (bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, etc.)
 • History of pancreatitis
 • Organ transplant or immunosuppressive therapy
 • Severe gastrointestinal diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease
 • Diabetic retinopathy
 • Insulin use

Initial consultation fee: $20
Payment is due in full when scheduling your appointment. Your consultation fee includes a follow-up visit to review your lab results and go over your treatment plan options.

• Upon scheduling your appointment, you will receive a confirmation email with links to several forms that must be filled out prior to your appointment.
 • Please complete the patient intake and sign consent forms AT LEAST 8 HOURS prior to your consultation.

If you are medically eligible for weight loss medication:

Monthly membership with Semaglutide is $349/ month and includes:

• Monthly and as needed follow up appointments
 • Medication and injection supplies are delivered directly to your home
 • Access to at-home exercise videos and education to help you succeed

Monthly membership with Tirzepatide is $599/ month and include:

• Monthly and as needed follow up appointments
 • Medication and injection supplies are delivered directly to your home
 • Access to at-home exercise videos and education to help you succeed

Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept insurance. Direct care clinics offers an innovate alternative payment model that improves your access to your healthcare provider for a flat monthly fee. Instead of being limited by insurance, both you and your provider are able to spend increased time focusing on your needs and goals. You don't need to worry about not being able to get an appointment for months on end, and not hearing back from messages for days.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Accepted Answer

Our program requires a 3-month commitment. In certain extenuating
circumstances, we will offer a refund or early cancellation:

- If you are not eligible for the program based on new lab results or factors
that come to light after at least one virtual consult, you may cancel
immediately but will not receive a refund for prior months.

What should I expect at my initial consultation?

Your initial consultation will typically take 40 minutes and will include:

• A review of your medical, family, and surgical history
 • A discussion regarding your goals for treatment
 • Education on risks, alternatives and benefits to therapy
 • Lab work orders, if necessary. (cost of lab work is not included in price of consultation)*
 • A follow-up appointment will be scheduled to review lab results and discuss appropriate treatment plan
